CCTV Trade Counter and Wholesale Supplier in Birmingham
Our trade counter is at Unit 60, Camp Hill Industrial Estate, John Kempe Way, Birmingham, B12 0HU. Stock sits behind the counter rather than in a warehouse on the far side of the city, so an installer who has lost a camera mid-morning is not stood about waiting on a courier. We have supplied the West Midlands trade since 2008, trading as CCTV101 under Cerrado Ltd. Counter hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 17:00, closed on public holidays.
Ring 0121 655 0146 on your way over and we will have the order picked and waiting. Most orders take a couple of minutes to pull. Some take longer.
Parking, van access and what the site is like
Camp Hill Industrial Estate is light industrial, built around vans rather than shoppers. John Kempe Way is wide enough to turn a long-wheelbase Transit without a twelve-point turn, and you can pull up outside Unit 60 while you load.
No barrier. No ticket machine. Nothing to download before you can park, and no two-hour limit once you have. Luton bodies and tippers get in without drama.
If you are collecting drums of cable or a stack of recorders, park nose-out and we will give you a hand loading. Worth arriving before about 16:30 if you want a clear run at the yard, because the rest of the estate starts packing up around five.
Getting here from the motorway network
Camp Hill sits just south-east of the city centre, off the A41 between Digbeth and Sparkbrook. Most trade drivers reach us along the A4540 Middleway and come off at Camp Hill Circus. From the far side of the city, stay on the Middleway. Cutting through Digbeth looks shorter and almost never is.
- M6, Junction 6 (Spaghetti Junction). A38(M) Aston Expressway down to Dartmouth Circus, then follow the A4540 Middleway round to the east and south until you hit Camp Hill Circus.
- M42, Junction 6. A45 Coventry Road through Sheldon and Small Heath, then up on to the Middleway at Bordesley and down to Camp Hill.
- M5, Junction 3. A456 Hagley Road in to Five Ways, then anticlockwise on the Middleway past Belgrave.
- Wolverhampton and the Black Country. M6 to Junction 6 as above, or the A4123 Wolverhampton Road through Quinton on to the A456. Reckon on 40 to 55 minutes in normal traffic.
- Solihull and Shirley. Straight up the A34 Stratford Road through Sparkhill and Sparkbrook, and the same run works from Hall Green. Camp Hill is at the top of it.
We sit in the Sparkbrook & Balsall Heath East ward, and postcode B12 0HU drops satnavs on the estate itself rather than out on the ring road. Give us a ring if you end up circling.
The Clean Air Zone, in practical terms
Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone covers the area inside the A4540 Middleway ring road. We sit outside it. Collecting from Camp Hill does not put a daily charge on a van that fails the emissions standard, and for anyone running an older diesel who calls in two or three times a week, that adds up over a year.
The route matters as much as the destination. Approach from the wrong side and you can clip the zone on the way in. Check your journey on the council’s zone checker before you travel, especially if your satnav likes cutting through the middle of town.
Opening a trade account
Trade pricing runs off an account. We can open one at the counter in a few minutes and there is nothing to fill in beforehand. Turn up with the paperwork below and it gets done while you wait.
- Company name and registration number, or your sole trader details
- Business address and a contact number
- VAT number if you are registered
- Something showing you work in the trade, such as an ECS or JIB card, a public liability certificate, a recent headed invoice or a supplier statement in the company name
Once it is open, the counter and the phone line both run off it, and anything you put through the online shop comes off the same pricing. A price quoted to you on the phone is the price on the till. What is usually on the shelf
We list around 890 lines. CCTV is the bulk of that, with intruder and networking alongside it. A working range is held at the counter, and anything we do not have on the shelf we can usually get in for next day if you order before noon. The brands we supply are Hikvision, HiLook, Dahua, Uniview (UNV), SPRO, Pyronix, Haydon, Securenet, TP-Link and our own CCTV101 range.
Fast movers are stocked in depth rather than one of each. Most of the catalogue is not.

The demonstration showroom
A datasheet will not tell you what a camera looks like at dusk on an unlit driveway. You have to see it. We run cameras live on monitors in the showroom, so you can stand in front of them and judge for yourself before you commit to a specification.
- Low light, side by side. Hikvision ColorVu against Dahua Full-colour, and both of them against plain infrared, on the same scene and the same screen. We have written the differences up in our ColorVu against Full-colour comparison, though watching it settles the argument faster.
- Resolution in the real world. 4MP against 8MP on the same view, so you can work out whether the client’s money goes on pixels or on a second camera covering a blind spot.
- Menus and apps. Moving a customer from one manufacturer to another is mostly a software job. Ten minutes in the recorder menus here saves an hour on site.
- Housings in the hand. How big it actually is out of the box, and how a junction box sits under a soffit with the cable in.
Bring the end user along if it helps. We have had installers close jobs at the counter simply because the customer could finally see, on a live screen rather than in a brochure, the gap between the cheap camera they asked for and the one that will actually show them a face at the end of the driveway after dark.
Who uses the counter
Security installers are the bulk of it. After them come electricians bolting CCTV on to a commercial fit-out, and maintenance teams looking after schools, care homes, warehouses and workshops across the West Midlands. If you cannot get to Camp Hill
Order by phone or online and we will ship it. Express delivery runs 1-2 working days and standard runs 3-5 working days, with delivery free on orders over £750 to the UK mainland. Full terms sit on our delivery policy page. Plenty of accounts do both. Bulk stock goes out to their unit on a pallet, and they come and take the urgent replacement off the counter the same morning.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a trade account to buy at the counter?
No. Nearly everything is open to anyone at list price. A few lines are trade-only and need an approved account before we can sell them at all. Trade pricing is the part that needs an account, and we can set one up while you wait if you bring company details and something proving you work in the trade.
Is your Birmingham trade counter inside the Clean Air Zone?
No. The zone covers the area inside the A4540 Middleway ring road, and Unit 60 sits outside that boundary, so there is no daily charge for collecting from us. Check your route before you set off, though. Some approaches into Birmingham cross the zone even when the destination does not.
Can I park a van outside?
Yes. Camp Hill Industrial Estate is an industrial site with room to pull up and load outside the unit. No barriers and no ticket machines, and nothing stopping you taking your time over it. Long-wheelbase vans and Lutons are fine.
Can I collect an online order the same day?
Ring 0121 655 0146 with your order number and we will check the item is on the shelf and put it aside. Same-day collection works for stocked lines during counter hours, Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 17:00.
