What we collect

Your account. When you register we keep your name, email address, phone number, business name and the addresses you give us. If you sign in with Google, Google sends us your name, email address and profile picture. We never see or store your Google password.

Your orders. We keep what you bought, delivery and billing details, and order messages. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not store your full card details.

Trade account applications. When you apply for a trade account we keep the business details you send so we can check and approve the application.

Messages. If you contact us through a form, by email or by phone, we keep what you tell us so we can reply and follow up.

Newsletter. If you choose to join our mailing list we keep your email address until you unsubscribe.

Technical information. Like most websites we record your IP address, browser and the pages you visit, partly for security and partly to understand how the site is used. Our cookie policy explains the cookies involved.

Why we use it

We use your details to run your account, take and deliver orders, handle returns and warranty claims, and answer your questions. That is necessary to provide what you asked for.

We keep order and invoice records because tax law requires it.

We use technical information to keep the site secure, block fraud and abuse, and improve the site. These are our legitimate interests, and we keep them proportionate.

We only send marketing emails if you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time from the link in every email.

Who we share it with

We share only what each party needs to do its job:

  • couriers, to deliver your order
  • our payment provider, to take payment
  • suppliers, when an item is sent directly to you
  • our hosting, security, email and analytics providers, who run the website for us
  • Google, when you choose to sign in with your Google account
  • Mailchimp, if you join our mailing list

We never sell your personal information.

Our website is hosted in Germany. Some of our providers, including Google, Cloudflare and Mailchimp, may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or the approved contract terms that UK law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep order and invoice records for six years, as HMRC requires. We keep your account while you use it. Accounts that have not been used for a long time are deleted automatically. Messages and applications are kept for as long as we need them to deal with the matter, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we have no legal reason to keep it. You can also object to how we use it, ask us to restrict its use, or ask for a copy in a form you can take elsewhere. Send us a message and we will reply within one month.

If you signed in with Google you can remove our access at any time from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Changes

We will update this page if the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
