The same simple Dahua PoE set-up at 8MP (4K). Worth the step up where you need to read a number plate or a face further from the camera.
The cameras are DH-IPC-HDW1839TP-A-IL-S6 eyeballs: 8MP with Smart Dual Light and a built-in microphone. Infrared by default, warm white light for colour when you want it. White or grey, 2.8mm lens.
The recorder is the DHI-NVR4104HS-P-EI with four PoE ports, or the 8-port DHI-NVR4108HS-8P-EI with the upgrade ticked. WizSense on both filters alerts to people and vehicles. 8MP fills a drive faster than 6MP, so size the hard drive up a step.
About the camera: DH-IPC-HDW1839TP-A-IL-S6
8MP (3840 × 2160) in the same compact eyeball as the 6MP model. The extra resolution earns its keep at range: at 2.8 mm it will recognise a person at about 17 m and identify one at about 8.5 m.
Smart Dual Light keeps it on infrared until a person is detected, then brings in the warm light for colour. Both reach up to 30 m. It draws under 6 W on PoE, well inside what a standard 802.3af port supplies. A microphone is built in.
